I Got Heart

I have finally updated and old Ranma fic of mine. Took me awhile, but I managed I guess. However, people are starting to think it's not an R/A and that Akane's family is being too OOC. Well, to answer those questions and doubts ... This is still an R/A, it's just now with more drama as Ukyo steps into the scene as Ranma's childhood friend and fiancee. I wanted to spice it up, especially with the fact that Akane knows Ukyo loves Ranma ... What will she do when Ranma starts to persue her though? She secretly likes Ranma just as much as Ukyo, but she doesn't want to hurt Ukyo's feelings ...

As for the Tendo family being OOC ... Well, they sort of are, sorry about that. However, I think they would change their attitudes towards Akane if her mother had died giving birth to her. Maybe not completely like I have them in my fic, but I wanted it to be more extreme so that when Ranma tries to show Akane he actually geunielly cares for her ... She freaks. Of course the Tendo family won't be mean to Akane much longer ... They aren't bad people, and I didn't want to make them into characters you just HATE ... I wanted to show how they might act out of carelessness from their deep sorrow at losing a dear family member, however I was planning on having the next couple of chapters concentrate a little bit more on them as they realize their mistakes dealing with Akane ... Here's the rough summary I have so far of upcoming chapters ...

Summary: The Tendo family begin to feel bad about their actions, but Kasumi is the one that grows enough courage to go look for and contact Akane. Weary of it all Akane doesn't take her seriously, but accepts her term of truce when suddenly Kasumi invites Akane to her wedding to Dr. Tofu. Akane is persuaded to go, but only with the emotional support of Ranma and Ukyo. However, she is surprised to find that her family dearly misses her (Soun goes to hug her in a crying fit.) Then things get even more interesting when Ranma and a certain bald guest encounter each other at the wedding. All hell breaks loose and suddenly Akane finds herself engaged to Ranma, upsetting Ukyo to no end. Akane then begins to wonder of her family's true intentions ...
